Home insurance companies pledge to raise money, help Gulf disaster victims

In light of the Gulf oil spill disaster, HomeInsurance.com has announced that they will be donating $5 to the National Wildlife Foundation’s recovery efforts every time a new customer takes out a home insurance policy through the month of August.

This is coming after Safeco, Foremost and Progressive made the decision to pitch in to help with the cleanup in the Gulf.

“Over the past few years HomeInsurance.com been able to support some wonderful causes,” said Jana Bell, Co-Chief Executive Officer at HomeInsurance.com. “Now we will be making a donation to help the wildlife of the Gulf region which feels like our backyard from our coastal city in North Carolina.”

Carlos Lagomarsino, Chief Executive Officer at HomeInsurance.com, says the company’s goal is to raise at least $5,000 for the NWF and Gulf volunteers. They offer quotes on their site for most areas around the country.

Home insurance is a worthwhile investment for homeowners looking to protect their property from unexpected damages and expenses. Depending on the policy, homeowners can get coverage for things ranging from flood and fire damage to burglary.
